The Small Things

If there is one thing I have learned in my short time as a mama its that the little small things that I do throughout the day with my two little ones leave the biggest imprint in my mind and in theirs.
Even if at the end of the day they may cause me to
clean a little longer, I know when I lay my head down to sleep at night I have done the best I can for my girls.

Like the walks down the paths surrounding our house, even if its just for a few minutes.

Long baths I let them take and tea parties we have while they take them.

Fancy dinners my oldest lives for. All the fancy part consists of is a table cloth, silverware rolled in napkins, candles, and classical music.
Reading the same book to Lainey twenty times in a row.

Letting Madison make the brownies all by herself, despite the mess I have to clean up afterwards.

Letting her paint her heart out, sometimes for a couple hours at a time.

I saw this quote last week on Pinterest and it really hit the nail on the head.

While I have great parenting days full of joy and fun, I also have plenty of days full of tantrums and grumpy little nap skippers.

I just try and squeeze all of the goodness out of each day I have.

After all they won't stay little for long.

My Beginning

Once upon a time there was a girl who had big dreams of following her dreams but day after day she was too afraid to even begin down the road of accomplishing any of them. She made excuses to herself and those who loved her.

The days kept slipping by and before she knew it the days became months and then years.

Not that her life was bad, she was a very very blessed girl, with two healthy lovely little girls, a loving supportive husband and best friend. She was just missing the passions in life that she knew needed to be pursued.

One day she woke up and realized that nothing was ever going to happen if she didn't try, that she would never know if she would fail or succeed. That it did not matter if others hated what she did because she would have to be happier following her dreams of creating and writing.

So she took her first step into fulfilling those dreams and she was happier than she had been in a long long time.

This is my beginning, my first step to fulfilling my dreams.
